I’m back from an herb trip to France. It was a beautiful experience in a fairytale land, with a circle of wise healers.
We met a high-altitude wild lavender harvester, went to a museum of antique stills and distilled our own rosemary hydrosol.
Something that was totally new to me was gemmotherapy. It’s the medicinal use of extracts of tree buds and other
emerging parts of plants. That moment, when the life force is swelling
but not yet bursting forth, awake but still feigning sleep, used as a
therapy. After my week in the sweet cocoon of a plant people posse, I
felt that I was in that same state, ready to come out of my time of sabbatical, of
professional torpor, and burst forth in a new cycle of renewal.
